C.N.M.I.: Pacific territories reps testify on H-2B, visa waiver

Local politicians didn't focus on a portion of a federal law that could determine if Guam has enough workers for the coming military buildup, according to testimony from a congressional oversight hearing held yesterday.

The congressional Subcommittee on Insular Affairs, Oceans and Wildlife held an oversight hearing, chaired by Guam Delegate Madeleine Bordallo, to discuss Public Law 110-229, yesterday. Once implemented, the law would put in place two major changes:
* The law would replace immigration laws in the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands with those of the federal government, restricting tourism from Russia and China. Guam follows those laws already.
