Solomon Islands: Six officers suspended for aiding escape of Chinese man

Police Commissioner Peter Marshall yesterday suspended six officers for their alleged involvement in the escape of an Asian from police custody.
The Chinese, who was held under immigration orders, has been re-arrested on Monday and will be deported soon for overstaying his visa.
Five of the officers were suspended on half pay; one on full pay, pending police investigation into their alleged actions.
